Judge profile pages collect all data relevant to a particular judge and arrange it in one place to streamline navigation. Users can save, create alerts for, and share profile binders.
Use Judge Profiles to find a dashboard of information and a list of tabs with information pertaining to the judge. Explore a judge’s litigation history, and answer questions like:
- How many Trademarks have been litigated before this judge?
- How busy is this judge compared to other U.S. District Court judges?
- What parties have appeared most before this judge as Copyright Assertors? As Accused Parties?
- How often does this judge grant a motion to transfer venue for convenience? Has the court’s treatment of this motion exhibited any trends in recent years?
- What firms have most experience bringing cases before this judge?

Time to Milestones
The Time to Milestones Report provides a statistical analysis, including average and median times to reach key Litigation Milestones in cases. The Time to Milestones Report is useful for estimating litigation schedules and budgets. Times are calculated from the date the complaint was filed to the date of the Milestone, and Milestones are determined based on Docket Navigator‘s classification of pleadings, orders, and other litigation documents.
The Time to Milestones tab is automatically filtered by the selected judge, but users can use the green Edit Filters button and select additional criteria to modify results.
Motion Success Tabs
View the success rates of selected types of motions over time when brought before the selected judge. Selected data is displayed as a bar chart with the underlying data table in real numbers and percentages. Both are clickable to the underlying orders.
Motion Success Rates Definitions
Granted – Includes orders (i) granting a motion, and (ii) recommending that a motion be granted.
Denied – Includes orders (i) denying a motion, (ii) denying a motion as moot, (iii) denying a motion without prejudice, (iv) striking a motion, (v) striking a motion without prejudice, (vi) vacating a motion, (vii) recommending that a motion be denied, and (viii) recommending that a motion be denied as moot.
Partial – Includes orders (i) denying or granting a motion in part, or (ii) recommending that a motion be denied and granted in part.
Other – Includes orders which were not included in Granted, Denied or Partial.

Motion Outcomes
Compare outcomes for a specific type of motion between multiple judges alongside the aggregate motion outcome data for that specific motion type. Use this tool to view the likelihood of different judges ruling on a particular motion in their client’s favor. Users can compare the motion results in different venues and compare motion results before particular judges within a venue.
