Create a consolidated litigation report for one or more patents.

Patent Report brings litigation information for one or more patents into a single report. It is especially useful when you have a list of patents and want to review their litigation history together rather than research each patent individually.

Patent Report organizes Docket Navigator litigation data for the patents you select into a multi-tab report.

Depending on the available data, the report can include:

  • cases
  • determinations
  • accusations
  • remedies
  • claim construction terms
  • cases by year

This gives you a single place to review both the underlying litigation records and a high-level view of filing activity for the selected patents.

  • What litigation activity is associated with this group of patents?
  • Which cases involve patents from a portfolio or uploaded list?
  • What determinations, remedies, or claim constructions have been recorded for the selected patents?
  • How has litigation involving these patents changed over time?
  • Which patents in a larger set have meaningful litigation history that warrants closer review?

Patent Report summarizes litigation activity associated with the patents you select.

The report combines several types of Docket Navigator records rather than producing a single score or ranking. Each tab should be read according to the type of record it contains.

For example, the Cases tab shows matters involving the selected patents, while Determinations, Remedies, Terms, and other tabs focus on particular litigation events or outcomes. Cases by Year provides a year-by-year view of filing activity for the same patent set.

The fastest way to use Patent Report for portfolio research is to start with a list of patent numbers.

You can enter patents directly or use the upload control to add a list, then select View Report to build a report for the full set.

This is useful for:

  • reviewing a client or competitor portfolio
  • screening a patent list for litigation history
  • evaluating a group of patents received in diligence or discovery
  • turning a spreadsheet or exported patent list into a litigation-focused research report

The report opens as a binder with separate tabs for the types of litigation information available for the selected patents.

Use the table of contents to move between record types. The count shown next to a tab indicates how many matching records are available.

You can use the filters within individual tabs to narrow the report further without rebuilding the original patent list.

The report is built from Docket Navigator records, so you can open cases and other linked records to continue your research.

Use the report as a starting point for deeper review of the cases, decisions, remedies, claim constructions, and other litigation activity associated with the selected patents.

The contents of a Patent Report depend on the litigation history of the selected patents. A tab may be empty when Docket Navigator has no matching records of that type.

Patent Report is designed to organize litigation information for a patent set. It does not provide a single measure of patent quality, strength, or litigation success.
